Bates Troy Dry Cleaners in Binghamton, NY Is Discharging Industrial Waste Into Our Communities
We are Bates Troy Dirty Neighbor, a neighborhood organization of families concerned about the air and water pollution that we have witnessed coming from Bates Troy Healthcare Linens located at 151 Laurel Ave in Binghamton, NY 13905. We originally became concerned about Bates Troy's environmental impact after they installed an industrial tunnel washer that produces a peculiar "low frequency noise" which has begun damaging the health of residents within a several block radius. To bring attention to our plight, we launched Bates Troy Noisy Neighbor. In the month since beginning that campaign we have become increasingly concerned about the other ways Bates Troy is damaging the environment.
Bates Troy recently expanded their Healthcare Linen facility into an area zoned Residential. And now, it is clear that if Bates Troy is allowed to continue their noise, air and water pollution then the formerly idyllic community of Fritz Wallenberg Park will be irrevocably destroyed. It is our belief that Bates Troy should not have been granted the use variance they requested in order to expand into our community. Our goal is to fully document the various ways that Bates Troy is damaging our neighborhood's character.
We are a reasonable group of residents that just want our quiet, idyllic community back. We ask nothing more than that Bates Troy comply with the preexisting laws of the City of Binghamton. If Bates Troy continues to disregard the law, then we respectfully ask the City of Binghamton to enforce its laws by fining Bates Troy, revoking their special use permit and confiscating their noise and pollution producing tunnel washer.
The simple fact is that Bates Troy is in violation of the law.
This is a passionate local issue that has united residents. This campaign against Bates Troy will not stop until there has been a satisfactory resolution that involves community input and a sincere change of behavior on the part of Bates Troy.
Bates Troy Dirty Neighbor is an ad hoc organization of concerned families living around the pollution produced by the Bates Troy Dry Cleaning Plant located at 151 Laurel Ave, Binghamton, NY 13905. We demand that Bates Troy comply with the laws of the State of New York. We may not have lawyers, money or high-ranking political allies. But we have something far more important: the truth is on our side.
